1. A Monetization Strategy

First of all, a monetization strategy. If you haven’t planned how you are going to monetize your blog, you probably won’t. Don’t worry, you can still come up with a strategy to monetize your blog.

It’s important that you have a strategy so that it will maximize your profit. As fun as blogging is, our time should be compensated. If you have a monetization strategy, it is!

2. Keyword Research

Keyword research… It’s super-important!

If you aren’t doing keyword research, then you will probably have a hard time ranking. If you have a hard time ranking, this will limit your growth tremendously!

Not doing keyword research? You may be writing on keywords for which you have 0 chance of ranking. Or, even worse you may be writing on keywords that nobody is searching for. If you want your blog to grow, you need to do keyword research.

3. Promotional Strategy

Do you think people are just going to find your website?

Of course, not. You need an active promotional strategy to get people to your website. This will also help search engines find your content quicker.

4. Backlinks

Whether you like it or not, backlinks are still important in SEO. So, you need to build them! Otherwise, Google will not trust you. So, if you haven’t been building backlinks, make sure to start doing it as soon as your new site is live.

5. Long-Form Content

The average word count of page that ranks on the first page of Google is 1,890.

This means it has to be part of your strategy. It will increase the likelihood of your content ranking on the first page. Make sure that the post is still full of valuable content and not filled with fluff.

If it contains a load of fluff, nobody will read it.

6. Content Ideas

If we run out of content ideas, we can’t write content. So, we need content ideas! There are many different ways we can get content ideas.

Some include:

  • Checking out competitors content
  • Asking your audience

If we don’t engage our readers, they will probably leave. So, it’s extremely important that our content engages them. We want our readers to stay, right? I mean that’s the whole point of writing.

8. Consistency

Every blog needs to be consistent. Otherwise, it will not grow. When you write posts consistently for a long period, that’s when you start to gain traction. This is also due to the snowball effect.

It also helps as it shows our audience that we are active.

9. Images/Videos

You may be able to have 1 or 2 blog posts with no images or videos. However, usually speaking you will want some images or videos. This will help your content look more attractive to the reader. So, if you aren’t using images/videos, make sure to start using them!
