The Universal Serial Bus as it is technically referred to, better known as USB first started its journey in 1994 by the fundamental idea of modifying and making the process of connecting a peripheral device to the computer easier. It is the very entity which has brought the radical change in connecting the peripheral devices to the host and as well as the power supply between computers and devices. The fundamental initiation of the USB cables was based upon the effort made to standardize the connection between the computers and its peripheral devices starting from the keyboard, and disk drives up to the network adaptors.
There are different formats present for the different kinds of devices which act as a host. Within these forms of USB, the three basics formats are there: the first or the standard one is the format used mostly in the desktop host devices. The second one is a mini format of it which is mainly intended to be used in the mobile devices, and last of these three general types is the format of a thinner micro size which is for the lowest profile mobile equipment. The USB is also characterized according to its increasing bandwidth corresponding to the data transfer; in this classification, it has five major types such as low speed, full speed, high speed, super speed and super speed plus.
Unique USB Cables evolution
In the course of its evolution, the USB has developed into a unique one that can be said as the best USB type c cable. This rotationally symmetrical design differs from the general systematization of it as it is designed as topologically asymmetrical. In the following portion of this article, I will talk about the very type of the USB, USB-C namely which has radically changed the connection system not only by substituting different USB-A or USB-B connectors but also proposing a future-proof design.
How is it Unique?
The USB type C was included in the IEC 62680 Universal Serial Bus Interfaces international standard for Data and Powerin 2014. USB-C is the type which comes with 24pin double sized connector and 8.4 millimeters by 2.6 millimeters USB-c port. It is the type which can be connected both to the host and the devices as well and by its very characteristic of data role swap or power role swap process it can swap the data transfer or the power transfer independently and dynamically for the dual role devices implementing the USB power delivery.
Two different modes of USB Cables
The USB type C also has two different modes as unique as its design. The modes are namely ‘Audio Adapter Accessory Mode which includes the USB-C plug supporting the analog headsets providing analog audio signals. The second type is the ‘Alternate Mode’ where alternate data protocol is transmitted among the host and the peripheral device dedicating some physical wires.
It has a wide range of software support such as Linux, Windows 10 or Windows Mobile as well as a range of supported hardware.
