Have you ever wondered just how is it that some bloggers get all of the cool assignments? It’s almost like there are *certain* bloggers who are chosen to get the frequent, lucrative and interesting blogging jobs. What’s their secret? How is it that they always seem to be in the right place at the right time?
Well, there is no secret. And actually their timing is perfect, because they are in the right place at the right time. It’s not at all a chance, but these types of bloggers take careful steps to build up their name and are always looking for exposure for their blogs. There are some things you can also do as a blogger that will help you get noticed and make you stand out from the crowd as well.
1. Blog, Blog, Blog
There is nothing more you can do to get discovered than to do what you’re known for: blogging. Continually blog on your topic, make updates to your blog and share links within your social circles every chance you get. Your readers will come to expect and look forward to your blog posts and you want them to do just that.
2. Make Quality Posts
Become known as an expert in your field. You don’t have to know everything nor do you have to have all of the answers, but if you consistently deliver quality blog posts, people will turn to you for answers when they have those targeted questions.
3. Be Genuine
Readers know when they’re being “sold to” and they don’t like it. Even if you’re an affiliate blogger, don’t make your posts sound “sales-y.” Instead, simply share what you know with your readers and let them make their own choices. Research your topic very well and deliver unbiased, unfiltered information. Your loyalty points grow with readers when you do this!
4. Be Transparent
If a client asks you to blog on a topic that you have no experience with, be honest and say so. Don’t risk your blogging reputation for a blogging job. It’s not worth it. It’s far better to stay tightly-focused on your topic instead of venturing into topics that you barely know.
5. Build Your Social Life
A great deal of blogging is also about being social and sharing your blog posts. With each blog post, bloggers should find a way to share their thoughts and information. Even if it is just a link, there’s always a way to share what you have on your social space. Be sure that when you do share, make it as relevant and resourceful as possible so that your readers really feel that they’re getting something of value.
If you were to implement these list items into your blogging lifestyle, you’d find that you’d get more contacts from potential clients and more opportunities to blog and share your posts. It’s not hard to do at all, but the key is to get and remain consistent as you build up a strong blog that will have people looking for you and you’ll get discovered.
